Training games for teaching reading to children of senior preschool age “Reading syllables”

Training games for teaching reading to children of senior preschool age “Reading syllables”
For every child, reading syllables is a mandatory stage in mastering the reading process. There are many games and simulators for learning to read syllables.
I bring to your attention hand-made training games.
The principle of syllable formation - combining two sounds into a syllable - can be demonstrated to a child using the game "Train Engine" :
We select the path along which the train approaches a certain vowel letter, call the letter indicated on the train (in our case “F”), then the vowel letter (we pull, we get the syllable: “FA.” At this stage we call the consonant letter in the same way as the sound - "F", not "FE".
Game "TV"
.
You can read and repeat syllables using the “TV” game made from a matchbox. Vowels are written on a strip of paper, consonants are written on the screen; Consonant letters can be changed: replaceable blocks - letters are stored in the same matchbox.
By moving the strip with vowel letters, we play with the formation of syllables. The adult clearly names the syllable on the screen; the child listens to the pronunciation of the syllable, grasps the moment how its formation occurs, and then repeats the syllable himself. Of interest is the ability to manipulate an object: move the tape with letters, change letters.
Training games are well complemented by didactic games, for example, “Come up with a word for a given syllable”
,
“Say the word”
,
“Who says so”
. These exercises help develop the skills of dividing words into syllables, composing syllables and short words (onomatopoeia, leading to meaningful reading.
Reading syllables must be brought to automaticity so that the child does not confuse the letters. Here you can use the plug constructor
.
It is better to start learning to read with syllables in which the vowel is the same, but the consonants change. First, the adult introduces the child to the house of the letter “A” and offers to populate the apartments with syllables. At this stage, you need to name consonant letters in the same way as sounds when reading: “M”, “N”, and not “Em”, “En”.
House of the letter "A"
:
You can try changing not the vowels, but the consonants. For some children, this option works better.
First, we read syllables with vowels “A”, “O”, “U”, “Y”, “E”, “I”, then we work with vowel letters denoting two sounds: “E”, “E”, “Yu” ", "I".
You can repeat syllables using syllable tables and didactic games
.
Game "Settle the House"
Offer to populate the syllables in the required entrances (indicated by vowels) and on the desired floor (indicated by a consonant).
Reading syllabic tables
introduced in a playful way. For example, we read syllables with the letter “A” in columns, then in lines. If, when reading the required syllables in the lines, you substitute a picture next to it, then...you get words.
Game "Collect the word"
Invite your child to find shapes of the same color, read the syllables and form a word.
Encourage your child, instill an interest in reading, praise and support, especially at this stage. After all, as soon as the child learns to combine sounds into a syllable, we can consider that the main step has been taken, and then it’s a matter of technique!
