Pure talkers are special speech exercises for practicing the skill of pronouncing sounds. Pronouncing pure tongue twisters and tongue twisters not only perfectly develops a child’s speech, but also contributes to the development of good diction and clarity of sound.
Each proverb consists of two parts. The first part involves repeating a certain syllable three times, by pronouncing which the child brings his articulation skill to automatism. The second part is a short phrase of 2-4 words that rhymes with the first part.
Thus, the last word in a phrase always ends with a stressed syllable already repeatedly pronounced by the child. For example: “ Yes, yes, yes - very clean water . ”
clear words with your child as early as possible. As a rule, pure sayings are easily remembered by a child. By pronouncing them, the child, unnoticed by himself, trains in the correct pronunciation of sounds that are difficult for him.
In order to automate sound, develop articulatory motor skills, clear diction, and expressiveness of speech, it is recommended to pronounce the phrase several times.
This can be done in different ways:
- pronounced with different intonation (interrogative, exclamatory);
- we pronounce it with different emotions (sadness, joy, etc.);
- we pronounce it in a voice of different timbre (like a bear, like a mouse);
- say it quietly or loudly;
- We pronounce at different tempos (slow or fast).
To make it interesting for the kids, I usually come up with simple sayings with pictures.
But you can also take the standard option. The main thing here is clarity of pronunciation.

Pure phrases help to attract children's attention to the sounding word, its sound and syllabic composition.
You can play a game with your children where they need to add a syllable with a certain sound:
Ryu-ryu-ryu - flowers for mom… .
Or finish the complete sentence by choosing a word with the appropriate syllable. This exercise teaches the child to select rhyming words:
Na-na-na - a long trunk....
Many interesting tasks and rhyming exercises can be found in the article “Choosing a rhyme.”

Pure phrases in the development of speech of young children
After 2 years, children quickly expand their vocabulary, and then the process of improving the sound design of words begins. At this stage, many parents see their task as teaching their child to pronounce sounds clearly and correctly. Speech therapy exercises come to the rescue. Some of the most effective for the perception of young children are listening, pronunciation and speech therapy games with PURE SPEAKS
.
A clear phrase is a rhythmic, rhyming phrase containing various combinations of sounds, syllables, words and is used to improve the pronunciation of sounds and to automate them.
Let me give you a few examples right away.
Of course, if you read the phrase just like that, without a picture, the child will ignore you. But believe me, a mini-rhyme coupled with a funny picture can work a miracle: most children really like these cards, which are so useful for improving pronunciation.
At what age can you start practicing using pure tongues?
Somewhere after a year, immediately after the child begins to make attempts to pronounce words.
Pure talkers are able to develop not only sound pronunciation, but also other aspects of a child’s speech: phonemic hearing, vocabulary, grammar, coherent speech, a sense of rhythm and rhyme.
At the first stage, our goal is not to force the child to repeat after us, but to develop correct speech perception, auditory attention
. That is, we simply show a card with a picture and clearly pronounce the phrase. Then you can discuss the content of the picture a little, but at the end again return to reading the pure saying. There is no need to immediately give your child a mountain of cards. “Learn” pure phrases gradually. Initially, every day (now less often) I hung a new card with a clear saying on Ulyana’s refrigerator. Our morning started off with a bang)))
I didn’t change the card during the day; we paid attention to it several times during the day. In the evening, I put the card in the album, and before going to bed we already looked through the album with all the learned phrases. Here is the spread of our album
When your baby begins to speak better, you need to encourage him to repeat after you. You can turn the game into asking a riddle. Choose a card with a saying that is familiar to your child, and turn the picture towards you. And make a wish. For example, “Ry-ry-ry, I’m carrying...”. The child answers “Balls”, you show him the card and rejoice at his success)))
Then encourage them to say the first syllables of the phrase, then the entire phrase.
At 2.5-3 years old, you can play speech therapy games with these cards. Now we play with Ulyana like this (Ulyana 2.5)
1. Say the pure tongue loudly, in a whisper: roar the pure tongue like a bear; squeak like a mouse, etc.
2. Say a clean phrase slowly and quickly
3. Answer questions in the form of pure sentences. For example, we take a card that is familiar to the child, one that we have learned.
And I start asking pure questions: “Sa-sa-sa. What braid?” “Sa-sa-sa. Who has a braid? You also need to answer honestly
Around 3 years old, games can become more difficult
- Call one-many from pictures in pure language ( sa-sa
-fox,
sy-sy
-foxes,
is-is
-many foxes)
- Count the objects (ash-ash-ash-one pencil, sha-sha-sha-two pencils, shey-shey-shey-five pencils)
- Say the opposite, say it kindly (ra-ra is a high mountain, ra-ra is a low mountain, lu-lu-chair in the corner, lu-lu-chair in the corner)
- Come up with a story based on the picture sa-sa-is this a fox? What kind of fox? Sa-sa what is the fox doing? Who did the fox meet?
There are entire poems built on the principle of pure proverbs. For example, like this
In terms of activities with a child, pure sayings have enormous potential, since you can come up with hundreds of them yourself and include them in different thematic activities. For example, these are the kind of sayings we learned during the technical task from the book “I want to go to my mother.”
I had a little speech game prepared for each character in the book. These characters got a fair shake)
You can come up with a perfect saying for absolutely any picture in the book.
And you can learn pure language this way.
Learn and do the actions she tells you about)))
In many sources, pure twisters are equated to other speech material, for example, tongue twisters. The word “pure talk” itself belongs to V. Dahl. And Dahl just equated the tongue twister with the tongue twister. Now speech therapists put completely different meanings into these words. I will write a separate post about tongue twisters.
Now you can download materials for classes with pure tongues from this link. Here are pure sayings that I downloaded from various sources, and ready-made texts for pure sayings to automate various sounds (in this case, you will have to look for pictures yourself).
And especially for Ukrainians, I give links to pure sayings in Ukrainian, made by the wonderful mother Yulia
There are also ready-made manuals with pure sayings, for example, here, here, or so on. If you wish, you can find others.
A special type of pure talk is musical. These are the so-called speech therapy chants. I will write about them separately and post them for download.
The plan for the remaining posts on speech development can be found here.
Have fun and useful games!
